Career Connection Network is a web based recruiting solution that leverages the social networking phenomenon to enable corporate customers to build relationships with and recruit top tier “passive talent” professionals; those not currently seeking a new job. Specifically, we partner with major Fortune 500 brands to build focused, niche career online communities where like minded professionals can communicate, collaborate, share information, learn how to advance their careers and enjoy a sense of community. Our corporate sponsors can then access and mine these communities on an exclusive basis for their staffing and recruiting needs.
The War for Talent identified by McKinsey in 1997 remains acute and “if anything has become worse,” according to a January 2008 McKinsey report. McKinsey estimates that 19% of the entire U.S. workforce holding executive, administrative and managerial positions will retire in the next five years and that there will be a shortfall of 3 million workers in the United States by 2016. Moreover, the traditional recruiting tools available to employers, such as job posting boards and staffing agencies are flawed. They are essentially forums for employers to bid against each other for the limited pool of then active job seekers and cannot identify top tier passive talent.
Unlike the job boards and recruiting agencies, whose business model is premised upon driving competition between employers, our model seeks to shield our corporate sponsors from the open market. We provide customers with exclusive access to captive audiences of dedicated professionals before they reach the job market. And we target passive talent, something the recruiters and job boards cannot do.
We have developed a highly scalable, open source methodology for creating and hosting online career destination sites for corporate customers. Each site contains tools and functionalities, such as member matchmaking by interests, member voting and ranking, career tools, group creation and geotagging by profile data; all designed to attract and maintain the interest of the professionals targeted by our sponsors.
